About & Editorial Policy

There is far more to discover in Berlin than I have been able to visit so far. On Sehenswuerdigkeiten-Berlin.info, I share a selection of places I have explored in person. I add more over time, with impressions from my visits, my own photographs and practical information to help you plan.

About this website

Sehenswuerdigkeiten-Berlin.info is an independent information website for anyone looking to explore Berlin and plan their stay. It covers the history of buildings and historic sites, alongside practical details about admission prices, opening hours and tickets. Suggested routes and transport information help you combine visits and plan your journeys.

The website covers sights, museums and memorials, as well as parks, viewpoints and guided tours. It also helps you choose places that suit your interests and the time you have available.

This is not an official website of the State of Berlin, a tourism organisation or any of the attractions featured.

Who is behind the website?

My name is Robert Werner. I run Sehenswuerdigkeiten-Berlin.info under the name netWER and am responsible for its content.

I grew up in Potsdam and have known Berlin and the surrounding region since childhood. I am particularly interested in the history and architecture of the places I visit. I also enjoy photography, and most of the images on this website are photographs I have taken during my visits.

My aim is to answer the practical questions that come up when planning a visit to Berlin: What is there to see? What background information helps you understand a place? Do you need to book ahead, and which sights can you combine on a walk?

Research and sources

For practical visitor information, I primarily consult material published by the organisations responsible for the places featured. This includes museum websites, information from the German Bundestag and public transport operators. For guided tours and ticket offers, I check the relevant provider’s terms.

I research historical and architectural information using institutional publications, specialist sources and, where accessible, historical documents. Where reliable sources disagree, I explain the differences. I leave out information that cannot be adequately verified or make the uncertainty clear.

Source references and links to official websites allow you to read further. Editorial recommendations reflect my judgement: a suggested route is a selection for a particular visit, rather than a definitive ranking.

Updates and corrections

Admission prices, opening hours and access arrangements can change. Building work and temporary closures may also affect a visit. I review and update the articles, although I cannot guarantee that every detail about every place or offer is up to date at all times.

Each article indicates when its information was last checked. Before travelling or booking, you should also check time-sensitive details on the official website. For current exhibitions, consult the museum or venue directly.

If you notice an error or outdated information, please write to redaktion[at]sehenswuerdigkeiten-berlin.info. Please include a link to the article, the relevant passage and, if possible, a source. Once I have verified the correction, I update the information.

First-hand experience and images

The articles combine my impressions from visiting places with researched information. Visiting an attraction does not mean that I have tried every guided tour or ticket option available there. When I describe a particular tour or service from personal experience, I make this clear in the article.

Please refer to the source and copyright credits provided for photographs and other images.

Funding and editorial independence

The articles are free to read. The website is funded in part through affiliate links and referral commissions. If you book or buy through a marked affiliate link, I may receive a commission from the provider. Using the link does not cost you anything extra.

A linked offer is not necessarily the cheapest option. Before booking, check the total price, what is included and the cancellation terms. The website does not cover every available offer. Your booking contract is with the relevant provider.

I also feature places for which there are no affiliate offers. I research information about the sights independently of any potential commission. Paid articles and advertising placements are labelled as advertising.
